Children receive two PE sessions per week led by their class teachers, encompassing both indoor and outdoor activities. Each session focuses on skill development and introduces elements of competitive sports.
Moreover, our curriculum is enriched by extracurricular activities conducted by external sports providers. We actively participate in inter-school sporting competitions, fostering a spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship. Additionally, we arrange opportunities for our students to attend live professional sports events.
Adhering to the guidelines outlined in the national curriculum, we offer a diverse range of PE activities tailored to challenge each child and facilitate their progression.
Swimming - Children in Year 5 attend swimming lessons in the summer term.
Scooter training - Key Stage 1 students have the opportunity to engage in our scooter training program, developed in collaboration with the local borough. This initiative involves a short course where children have their scooters inspected for safety and receive instruction on riding them safely during dedicated workshops.
Bikeability- Key Stage 2 get the opportunity to take part in 'Bikeability,' usually in Years 3 and 4. Bikeability is a cycle training programme that teaches children practical skills and gives them the understanding and expertise they need to ride their bikes on the road safely.
Sports Day - Our children look forward to and enjoy our annual Sports Day, competing against each other and for their 'House Team.'
